Last Day of Treatment - 4th (Last Cycle)

Today was my last treatment of 4th and Final Cycle. This place has become my second home. I remember the first day that I received treatment, the apprehension and fear, I couldn't believe it was happening to me. Happy to get to this point, it really has gone quick, although, I spend most of December in and out of the rooms, before Christmas and between Christmas and New Year.

Tues 31st, I go for a whole lot of tests. We have a family meeting on the same day, where the doctors and their team explain the Stem Cell Transplant process. So the next Phase starts....Stem Cell Transplant...

End of 4th Cycle, Next....Stem Cell Transplant

Tomorrow is my last treatment of my 4th Cycle. I must say it has gone quite quick, although thinking of it, Pretoria East Hospital has become like a second home, or perhaps second office, as I spend time working on my laptop making calls etc.. while under treatment.

I then have about 2 weeks off...and then the biggie!

I start with Stem Cell harvesting on the 6th Feb, So I will be hospitalized for 2 weeks, I'll also be receiving some heavy Chemo in this time, so I guess there goes the hair. After the harvesting process, I'll have 2 weeks off, whereafter I'll check in for another 2-3 Weeks for the transplant.

The treatment that I have received so far has been very effective, and has brought my cancer levels to normal. My back is recovering very well! I must say I feel very good as far as that is concerned. I've started spinning at gym, although taking it very easy. I see how my budies are all training for Sani2c, to think that was me a year ago! So the challenge is that I'm back on my bike for next years Sani2c, by Gods Grace! Which I firmly believe!

I really appreciate all the support that I have received from everyone, even though in February and March, I'll be in isolation, I really appreciate you support in my absence. I think visitors are limited due to the risk of infection. While in hospital, I will be able to take my laptop, books, etc..I even think I will take my guitar (with ear phones).  The whole process is unfolding, and will know more within the next two weeks or so.

4th Cycle and then Stem Cell Transplant Coming Up

Today I started my 4th Cycle of treatment, after enjoying 10 days off, being at Hermanus, catching some sand and sun, an amazing holiday. The dining was fantastic, so many restaurants, with great food! We flew to the cape and flew back this morning, went home, un packed and then to hospital to start treatment.

We also met with Mr T, who confirmed being very pleased with my results and progress, my kappa and lambda levels are 12 and 7 respectively, and are apparently in the normal range. The m spike was higher this time being 4, however she believes that it is an interpretation variance, and is not too concerned about this.

We then discussed dates for all the Stem Cell transplants. Harvesting - I start with the prep for harvesting on the 7th Feb, which consists of treatment for 2 weeks, and with the actual harvest on the 21st Feb. I'm booked off for this time. I then start with the stem cell transplant on the 6th March, and will be in isolation for 2 weeks, with the balance of the month being booked off, to recover, as this is a sensitive period.

Once the transplant has been done, I would then need to come in for checkups every 3 months.

I really trust the Lord, that though this process I can expect full healing! Through the power of his grace bestowed upon us! I really pray that you will stand with me in this time. Your prayers and support are invaluable to me. Blessings!

End of 3rd Cycle

Busy with my last treatment, today is the end of my 3rd cycle of treatment, the I have 10 days off. Hope to be able to sleep tonight, I look forward spending next week with the family, before schools all start up again. I have been back at gym, last night swam 1000m, and did an hour spinning class. So I'm getting there slowly, but surely. Still have some muscle pain in my back, I guess it will take a while to get all my back muscles working properly.

New Book - Relentless - John Bevere

John Bevere has brought out a new book, just purchased a copy, have not read it yet, but I think is going to be very good!

James 1 -  Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.3  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance andsteadfastness and patience.4  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.
