Homeward Bound

Yvette and I where supposed to fly home tonight. Israel shut down the Airport to international flights till the end of January. We now fly on the 2nd, and trust for a safe passage. We where able to go to Jerusalem for the day. Was nice being there. Because of COVID, the town was in lockdown, there where no people in the old city, nor at tourist sites. I really enjoyed the vista from the mount of olives, looking at the east gate, where Jesus will walk through when he returns.
We look forward going back home. Kind regards.

Going Home

Today is Shabat in Israel, it’s been around 13 days since my last treatment. These treatments knock me some what, with low energy levels , and also low blood levels. I have received three blood transfusions. At one stage my platelets where level 3, which is dangerously low. We also consulted the doctor with my myeloma results, and she informed us that the treatment is not working, as   my cancer levels continue to rise. Normally if the meds don’t work after the 2nd treatment, they stop treatment. Yvette and I where very disappointed. So we plan to return to SA on the 28th. I am reminded of this scripture:

Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Lord still remains faithful and true. Were reminded of where our faith lies, in the medicine or our Heavenly Father. This trip has been an emotional roller coaster ride, We have seen his hand in every aspect of this trip, and had kept our family is His hands. We stand in anticipation of what the Lord has install for us. Shabbat Shalom.

Update

It’s been a while since my last up date. We moved into a new apartment, which is the nicest we have had before. I’ve been for my second treatment, we saw about a 20% improvement after the first treatment. The doctors said that they would get a good indication whether the treatment is working, after the 2nd treatment. The treatments are 21 days apart, which makes it very time consuming. We hope to come home after the 3 or 4 treatments. Israel is also in lock down, so all shops and restaurants are closed. We spend most of our time in our apartment. I hear COVID is really bad in SA at the moment, so please be safe.

New Year

As we kick off the new year, I have a sense of Hope for 2021. I remember our anticipation for 2020, which turned out to be one of the toughest years yet, this being for everyone. Notwithstanding 2020, the Lord still blessed us with His love and presence in the year. Last year was a year of spending time with family, where we learned so much about each other. We where able to share and pray for our families.

I had further blood tests yesterday, and it seems that my cancer levels are starting to come down, after the first treatment. My next treatment date is on the 10th, and I'm trusting for further improvement. The Lord is good, all the time.

Have a Blessed 2021!
